Certified Expressive Arts Therapist

Registered Therapeutic Counsellor

Chelsea Angeles (she/her) is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT #3240). She is also a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist offering a compassionate and playful space where clients are open to explore and lead with curiosity and imagination. Chelsea is dedicated to empowering her clients by fostering resilience through creativity by integrating therapeutic expressive arts approaches to promote emotional well-being, support self-development, and self-expression. Expressive Arts (visual art, creative writing, movement and dance, music and voice) has the power to hold, heal, and offer a space where we can show up as we are and land in the art.

Chelsea is trained using trauma informed, person-centered, anti-oppressive, and mindfulness based approaches. She believes meeting clients where they are is essential to establishing strong therapeutic relationships. Chelsea has experience working with themes of anxiety, depression, loss, life transitions, and self-esteem, and identity.

As an artist and formally trained dancer, Chelsea has a rich background in the performing arts, including experience in theatre, as well as writing and performing spoken word poetry. Currently, she fosters her own self-expression through her connection with movement and dance. Chelsea’s experiences with expressive arts has been a beautiful reminder of the importance of engaging with imagination and play in her everyday life.

If you are curious about working with Chelsea and are looking to (re)connect with therapy, book a consultation call. No previous experience with art is necessary to begin your healing.

  • I think my 5 year old and 15 year old selves would be so impressed that my career is dedicated to sharing the beauty and magic of art and self-expression. Both versions of myself were intuitively engaging with art to process, reflect, and imagine all along, which warms my heart now as an adult. My 15 year old self would be very proud that I evolved into a human who would keep her safe and stand up for her. Five year old me would be so excited to know that I continue to allow myself to play. They are “my why” for being in this work.

  • I used to think being an adult meant having it aaaall together, knowing aaaall the answers, and having aaaall the resources. HA! Yeah right! Oh my gosh! We’re just all figuring it out day by day, hour by hour, sometimes minute by minute huh? Shifting into that embodied understanding meant that I needed my people more than ever. Connecting with community, reaching out, and asking for support is what saved me.
