They/Them

Massage Therapist

Maleen Olver Portrait of a queer massage therapist with a trauma-informed approach, dedicated to providing safe and nurturing care for all clients.

Maleen graduated from VCMT in December 2024 with a diploma in Registered Massage
Therapy and has worked as a personal trainer for six years. Their practice is dedicated to helping people become their best selves by enabling them to do the things they love for as long as possible.
During their clinical internship, Maleen worked with a diverse range of clients, including athletes from UBC’s sports teams, individuals with cognitive impairments at Summit, and aging populations at various levels of independence at Louis Brier Home and Hospital.
Maleen takes a somatic and movement-integrative approach, making patients active participants in their health and wellness. Each treatment is tailored to the individual’s goals and comfort level. They incorporate Swedish massage, neuromuscular techniques, myofascial techniques, and other therapeutic modalities. After each session, Maleen provides a home care plan that is both manageable and effective to support long-term well-being.
Maleen encourages everyone to come as they are and leave with a sense of ownership and empowerment over their body and wellness.

Maleen’s Favourite Quote:

“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly”

- G.K Chesterton.

I interpret it as it’s better to do something poorly than to not do anything at all.

  • My childhood home is an elementary school (yes we had a full sized gymnasium and yes my bedroom was a classroom).

  • When I’m not working you can find me at my fiancé’s dance studio acting as the resident dance dad, helping to build props, run recitals, and keep everyone sane during competitions.

  • Summer is my favourite season and you will not find me inside if the sun is shining.
